Lady at the tea stall
In September, when I with my 2 friends and cofounders Rohit and Sumit moved to Bangalore, we lived in a PG in front of Inchara Hotel, JP Nagar for 5 months. We 3 and 2 of our neighbors became good friends. We used go out for tea and cigarettes every 2-3 hours. There was a tea shop beside Inchara Hotel. A guy of about 30 years old, a servant and a girl of around 25 years old used to be in the shop.
When I went to the shop for the first time for tea with my friends, from the corner of my eye, I was observing the girl. I noticed that she was unhappy. I wondered who is she. May be sister of the guy. Then I saw the toe ring, that only married women wear. She must be the guy's wife. I came back to PG in 10 minutes. I was thinking about her the whole day. I kept guessing her story and reason for unhappiness.
She is young and married. She runs a shop. She gives tea and cigarettes to customers.
Why will any girl want to run a tea cigarette shop? Will any girl marry any guy if she knows she has to run a shop for him? Obviously doesn't seem likely. She might not be expecting this before marriage. She might have expected a luxirious life after marriage as all girls do. But what happened instead. She is made to run a tea cigarette shop. Even if she is realistic, she wouldn't be expecting this. All her dreams and expectation out of marriage is shattered. Does she deserve this? And was this is reason of her unhappiness? I still don't know the answer.
